Military Base Fort Stewart Blocked in Georgia Due to Active Shooting

Parts of the Fort Stewart base in southeastern Georgia were blocked on September 6, 2025, following reports of active shooting. This was reported by the base representative, deputy commander Angel Tomko.
At this moment, it is unknown whether there are any injured. "We are currently assessing the situation, but we can confirm the presence of active shooting," Tomko noted.
In an official statement on Facebook, the base urged all personnel in the blocked zone to "remain indoors, lock up, and close all windows and doors."
Fort Stewart, located approximately 64 km southeast of Savannah, is the largest military base in the east since the Mississippi River and is home to thousands of soldiers belonging to the 3rd Infantry Division.
The incident took place in the area of the 2nd armored combat group. Law enforcement is already on the scene, and the situation continues.
