Zelensky Honors Soldiers of the 80th Air Assault Brigade

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited the command post of the 2nd battalion of the 80th Air Assault Brigade, where he presented state awards to Ukrainian defenders and held a meeting with the brigade commanders.

He announced this in his post on Telegram, as reported by Ukrinform.

The president thanked the military for their service and defense of Ukraine, particularly for the operation in the Kursk region, and noted that he had a "detailed and substantive" discussion with the commanders regarding the current operational situation. They discussed the use of unmanned aerial systems, protection against Russian drones, new supplies, and ensuring the brigade has the necessary resources for producing their own drones.

Zelensky also emphasized the need for the brigade's supplies in anti-tank mines, pickets, and quadrics. He instructed the head of the Verkhovna Rada to prepare a plan of actions to allow the brigades to operationally purchase pickets.

In addition, the president met with the commanders of the 225th separate assault regiment in Sumy region. They discussed the request of the regiment commander regarding the elevation of the unit's status to that of a brigade. Zelensky noted that the soldiers of this unit were the first to enter the territory of the Kursk region and significantly replenished the common fund.

The president also thanked the military for their service and results achieved during the Kursk operation, presenting them with state awards.
