Manchester United Considers the Possibility of Signing Carlos Baleba
- Manchester United is interested in signing Carlos Baleba.
- Brighton does not plan to release the player this summer.
- Lille receives a portion from the sale of Baleba, which will take place if the transfer occurs.
The football club Manchester United has taken the first steps towards signing midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton. The club is in contact with Brighton's management through intermediaries to discuss the terms of a potential transfer.
The 21-year-old player, whose contract with Brighton runs until 2028, is one of the most promising young footballers. Brighton does not plan to release Baleba this summer, as they want to keep him in the team for at least one more year.
Meanwhile, interest in the player is growing, and Manchester United is one of many clubs that are showing interest. In the event of a successful signing of forward Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, the situation with Baleba may become more understandable in the coming days.
Manchester United's transfer chief, Ruben Amorim, is actively looking for new players to strengthen the team, including the necessary midfielders and forwards. The team already has players like Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte, but Baleba is one of the key targets of the club.
Baleba joined Brighton from Lille in the summer of 2023 for a fee of around £26 million. During his appearances in the Premier League, he has become one of the brightest young midfielders, playing 40 matches and scoring four goals last season.
In addition, Brighton could benefit from the sale of Baleba, as Lille has the right to 20% of the sum exceeding €30 million if the transfer occurs.
