- Weah transfers to Marseille on loan terms from Juventus.
- The agreement includes an obligation to buy after the season.
- The footballer has experience playing at the international level.
Tim Weah will undergo medical examinations in Marseille before finalizing his transfer from Juventus. The operation includes an initial loan for the 2025-26 season, for which Marseille will pay 1 million euros, with an obligation to buy for 14 million euros at the end of the season.
The agreement between the clubs also includes a potential add-on of 3 million euros, with Juventus retaining 15% from any future sale of the player.
Earlier this summer, negotiations took place between Juventus and Nottingham regarding Weah's transfer, whose contract with the Italian club runs until 2028. However, this agreement did not materialize.
The 25-year-old footballer joined Juventus from Lille in 2023 for approximately 12 million euros and scored seven goals in 78 matches for the first team. He represented Juventus in the Club World Cup in the USA but played only 45 minutes in one match.
Weah plays in the positions of winger, right back, and wing-back during his time at Juventus, although his preferred position is winger. He has also played 44 matches for the national team of the USA, scoring seven goals, making his debut in 2018. The transfer to Marseille takes place ahead of an important year for the national team, as the USA will be co-hosting the World Cup in 2026.
Marseille finished second in Ligue 1 last season, which allowed the team to qualify for the Champions League. They finished with 19 points behind champions PSG, where Weah began his professional career.
