At the beginning of the match, former Arsenal player Nikola Pepe opened the scoring, having scored from close range right after the ball was cleared from the corner. Villarreal increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Carla Ette Eynhga, who finished the attack beautifully.

Gyoekeres, who recently joined the club, was eager to find his moment, but his best chance was stopped by Villarreal goalkeeper Luison Junior. However, 15-year-old Max Dovman, who also played in the youth teams, converted a penalty that allowed Martin Odegaard to score from the rebound.

This defeat became the second for Arsenal in a series of friendly matches, and the Mikel Arteta's team is preparing for the start of a new season in the Premier League, where they are set to play against Manchester United.
