  • Bridgewater returns to the NFL after appearing for Detroit in 2025.

Teddy Bridgewater, the new quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recently shared details about his suspension from training at the senior school Miami Northeastern. At the press conference, Bridgewater spoke about the circumstances that led to his suspension, which occurred during an investigation by the Florida High School Athletic Association regarding the provision of improper benefits to his minors.

The suspension was a consequence of Bridgewater reaching out to parents on Facebook with a request for financial support for covering expenses for the team, including meals before games and transportation.

According to Bridgewater, his intention was to protect the children, as he aimed to ensure their safe passage to and from the dangerous area. "I as a parent will always protect my kids," he stated.

Meanwhile, Bridgewater signed a contract with Tampa Bay, marking his return to the NFL after his last appearance with the Detroit Lions in January 2025. He was selected to ensure stability in a team that has issues with injuries to other quarterbacks.

Given his experience, Bridgewater hopes to make a positive contribution to the team and help young players, with whom he previously worked. "I know what it’s like to be in their shoes," he added, speaking about his experience in school sports.
