The President of the USA Donald Trump may hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin next week, as reported by an official representative of the White House.
Putin expressed a desire to meet with Trump during a conversation with American special representative Steve Uitkoff. Trump, in turn, indicated that he is ready for a meeting, which could potentially help conclude the war in Ukraine.
During a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and several European leaders, Trump shared this information. The exact location for the meeting is still unknown, but possible options include the White House or neutral countries, such as Qatar or Switzerland.
Press Secretary of the White House Karine Jean-Pierre noted that it was the Russian side that expressed a desire to meet. In the event of success, the meeting could take place next week, although there remains a possibility that it may not happen.
