A Woman Arrested in Florida for Falsifying a Medical Diploma
- The woman treated patients without a license since July 2023.
- The arrest occurred after the discovery of fraudulent documents.
- She faces up to 14 years in prison for the crime.
In Florida, a 29-year-old woman named Ocean Bardisa was arrested, who is suspected of having posed as a medical professional and treated over 4,400 patients without a valid license. Her arrest took place on September 5, 2025, following an investigation that began after medical staff discovered that she only had an expired certification for a medical assistant.
Bardisa was hired in July 2023 as a technician-medical assistant at AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway, where she worked under the supervision of a licensed medical professional. She claimed to have completed the necessary courses but did not take the national exam to obtain a license. During the formalization of her employment, she provided a license number that belonged to another person, indicating this change after the discovery, but did not provide a valid certification.
In January 2025, her employment was terminated; medical staff checked her license and found that it was invalid. After Bardisa's dismissal, the medical facility reported this to the police, which led to an investigation. She is accused of seven serious criminal offenses related to the practice of medicine without a license and identity theft.
At the moment, Bardisa remains under a $70,000 bond in Flagler County Jail.
