Radford, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, has been in the army since January 2018 and has not been previously assigned to combat operations. According to military data, he used a personal weapon during the attack, which took place around 10:56 AM. Other soldiers who were witnesses to the incident quickly reacted and apprehended him until law enforcement arrived.
After the shooting, the five soldiers were hospitalized, two of whom required emergency surgery. At this moment, all patients remain in stable condition and are awaiting full recovery. The base was secured until 11:35 AM when Radford was arrested.
