The United States Introduces New Sanctions Against China and India
- Trump may introduce new sanctions against China
- The USA will monitor the import of Russian oil
- 25% tariff on India through connections with Russia
This is reported by RBC Ukraine, Ukrinform.
US President Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility of introducing secondary sanctions against China. He stated this during a press conference, responding to a journalist's question about possible new tariffs on Chinese goods.
Trump noted that such actions could take place, especially since similar tariffs on Indian goods had previously been introduced. On September 6, 2025, he signed a decree to impose an additional 25% tariff on imports from India. This decision was a response to commercial ties between India and Russia.
The decree will take effect within 21 days, but its conditions may be revised. Trump also did not rule out the possibility of introducing 25% tariffs on other countries that continue to purchase Russian oil.
According to the new executive order, the United States will monitor the import of Russian oil by other countries and may implement economic measures against them. The US Department of Commerce, together with other agencies, will determine whether any country is importing Russian oil.
Based on the data obtained, a report will be prepared for the president with recommendations on possible measures, including imposing sanctions or additional tariffs.
These actions are part of the expansion of the national emergency declared due to Russia's actions in Ukraine, which was announced on September 5, 2025.
