Fort Lauderdale, Florida — The team Inter Miami triumphed over Pumas with a score of 3-1 in their final group stage match of the Leagues Cup on Wednesday evening at the Chase stadium. This victory allowed the team to advance to the playoff stage.

Although the team played without Lionel Messi, who suffered an injury during the match against Negxi on September 2, Luís Suárez stepped up, scoring a goal and making two assists. Rodrigo De Paul opened the scoring in the match, equalizing after Jorge Ruvalcaba had put Pumas ahead in the 34th minute.

Suárez converted a penalty in the 59th minute, which allowed Inter to take the lead 2-1. Tadeo Allende capped off the scoring, netting the third goal in the 69th minute.

Inter Miami finished the group stage with a total of eight points, having previously defeated Atlas and Pumas in regular time, and also winning a penalty shootout against Negxi, winning the penalty shootout 5-4.

This victory was crucial for the team, which won its first Leagues Cup in 2023, but was eliminated in the Round of 16 in 2024.
