Changes in Water Levels in Ohio for JD Vance's Vacation

  • The request to raise the water level was made for the safety of the vice president's vacation.
  • Vance celebrated his birthday while kayaking on the lake in Ohio.
  • Critics consider such actions hypocritical due to cuts in the National Park Service.

The team JD Vance appealed to the Army Corps of Engineers in Louisville, Ohio, with the request to raise the water level of the lake to ensure safe transportation for the vice president during his family vacation. This information was confirmed by The Guardian.

Vance was spotted in southeastern Ohio on August 2, the day of his 41st birthday, when he was kayaking on the lake along the Little Miami River, which is home to the waters of Caesar Creek Lake. Along with notifications, the request to raise the water level was made not only for safety but also to create "ideal conditions for kayaking."

The vice president's office did not respond to a request for comment. A representative of the Secret Service reported that they coordinated with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Army Corps of Engineers to ensure safe conditions during the visit.

At the beginning of August, on the day when Vance was in the area, a significant rise in the water level of the river was recorded, along with a corresponding decrease in the water level in Caesar Creek Lake. Along with public data, the Army Corps of Engineers confirmed that the request for a temporary increase in the water level was justified operationally.

While there are no accusations of illegal actions, critics believe that such a situation appears hypocritical, especially since Vance's administration is implementing significant cuts in the National Park Service. Experts in this field emphasize that the use of state resources for personal vacations is inappropriate.
