Al-Hilal Signs Agreement with Liverpool Regarding Darwin Núñez

  • Núñez transfers to Al-Hilal for 53 million euros
  • He scored 40 goals in 143 matches for Liverpool
  • Liverpool is eager to sign Isak after the sale of Núñez

The Al-Hilal club has reached an agreement with Liverpool for the transfer of Uruguayan forward Darwin Núñez for a sum of 53 million euros (46.3 million pounds). Núñez is currently preparing for medical examinations before the transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

The 26-year-old footballer joined Liverpool in January 2022 from the Portuguese club Benfica for an initial fee of 75 million euros. During his time at Liverpool, Núñez played 143 matches and scored 40 goals, but only in eight of those did he start in the starting lineup during the previous season in the Premier League.

The sale of Núñez financially supports Liverpool in efforts to sign Swedish forward Alexander Isak from Newcastle, who is valued at 150 million pounds. Liverpool has already made a proposal of 110 million pounds, but it was rejected.

Núñez received permission from Liverpool to travel to Germany, where Al-Hilal is conducting a training camp for the purpose of undergoing medical examinations.
