Completion of Mykhailo Antonio's Contract After the Accident

Mykhailo Antonio became a free agent, as the club West Ham confirmed that the forward did not sign a new contract. His previous agreement ended at the end of the last season.

Antonio did not play for West Ham since the moment of a serious car accident in June of last year, but he did participate for the Jamaican national team at the international level. The club thanked him for ten years of dedicated service.

In June 2023, Antonio was involved in an accident, as a result of which he received a serious injury. He underwent surgery, as a result of which a metal plate was installed in his leg.

Regardless of the injury, Antonio confirmed that he plans to return to the game. He participated in the matches of the Gold Cup, representing Jamaica, and also played for the youth team of West Ham.

The club continues to discuss the possibility of a new role for Antonio in the West Ham academy, where he may engage in training activities.
