The number of Ukrainians supporting negotiations with Russia is growing

  • 70% of Ukrainians support peace negotiations with Russia
  • Only 32% consider NATO membership possible in 10 years
  • Relations with the USA have worsened, while those with Germany have improved

According to a new Gallup poll conducted in July 2025, more and more Ukrainians are inclined towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict with Russia. This result reflects a significant shift in public sentiment, as previously, in 2022, nearly 75% of respondents advocated for the continuation of military actions to expel the invaders.

In the new survey, only about 30% of Ukrainians believe that military actions should continue, while 70% advocate for swift negotiations. This indicates a change in the mindset of the population, which has experienced significant losses over three years of war.

The survey was conducted among thousands of respondents aged 15 and older, including territories currently under Russian control. Approximately 10% of the population were unable to participate in the survey due to lack of access to these territories.

In light of the decreasing support for the continuation of the war, Ukrainians also express pessimism regarding the possibility of joining NATO. Only 32% believe that Ukraine will be able to join the Alliance within the next 10 years, which is the lowest indicator since the beginning of the full-scale war.

At the same time, positive assessments of Germany's actions have risen to 63%, while support for the American government has fallen to 16%. This reflects growing distrust towards the USA following the change in administration.
