The European Commission reported that currently, the format of negotiations to end the war of Russia against Ukraine has not been defined. Commission representative Arianna Podesta confirmed that European leaders are in constant communication with Ukrainian officials, but the details have not yet been agreed upon.
Podesta commented on the possibility of trilateral negotiations between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of the USA Donald Trump, and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin without the participation of European representatives. According to her, the decision regarding the format has not yet been made.
She noted that "the format, terms, and logistics are currently absolutely unclear," and she did not rule out that topic. It was also mentioned that recently Trump discussed his plans with European leaders, but no venue has been allocated for the negotiations for Europe.
French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian expressed the desire for Europe to participate in the negotiations, but only after the cessation of hostilities is achieved.
