Agreement on visa-free transport with Moldova extended until 2027

  • The visa-free regime with Moldova has been extended until the end of 2027.
  • This will promote the development of business and increase trade between the countries.
  • The agreement simplifies the transportation of goods without special permits.

This is reported by Interfax Ukraine, RBC Ukraine.

During a meeting of the joint transport commission, Ukraine and Moldova agreed to extend the agreement on the liberalization of freight transport between the countries until the end of 2027.

According to the statement from the Ministry of Community Development, the extension of the agreement allows Ukrainian and Moldovan carriers to continue to perform bilateral and transit freight transport by road without special permits.

According to Deputy Minister Sergey Derkach, Moldova is an important partner for Ukraine on its path to the EU. He noted that the ministry team will work on ensuring transparent and accessible working conditions for Ukrainian carriers.

Deputy Prime Minister-Oleksiy Kuleba stated that last year, trade between Ukraine and Moldova increased by 12%, reaching approximately 1.1 billion dollars. The liberalization of road transport is an important factor in this growth.

The agreement on the liberalization of freight transport was signed in September 2022, and in 2023, an agreement was reached on the extension of the "transport" visa-free regime until the end of 2025. Thus, this is already the second extension of the agreement.

In addition, Ukrainian carriers received simplified conditions for transporting goods to 35 European countries.
