Chelsea is negotiating with Manchester United regarding the transfer of Andrey Garnacho

The Chelsea club has activated negotiations with Manchester United regarding the transfer of winger Alejandro Garnacho. In recent days, the clubs have established contact, and Garnacho hopes for a transfer to Stamford Bridge. The 21-year-old player turned down all other options this summer, except for a transfer to Chelsea or staying at Old Trafford.

It was reported on Thursday that Garnacho was one of five United players who were allowed to return to pre-season training. United's manager, Ruben Amorim, stated in April that Garnacho needs to find a new club. Increased interest from Chelsea in Garnacho arose after United agreed on the transfer of forward Benjamin Sesko to RB Leipzig for 76.5 million euros.

Garnacho's transfer fee, as reported, is expected to be 50 million pounds sterling. He would become the second winger United sells to Chelsea in two seasons after the transfer of Jadon Sancho on the conditions of last year's agreement. Garnacho joined the United academy from Atletico Madrid in July 2020, and since then he has played 144 matches for the first team, scoring 26 goals.

Initially, Garnacho was absent from the pre-season tour of United in the USA, where the team manager expressed the opinion that the player wants a change. "Some players adapt to one coach, while others want a new challenge," Amorim noted.
