Germany restored the Patriot radar for Ukraine after the Russian strike

• The Patriot radar, damaged by a Russian strike, has been restored in Germany.

In recent months, Russian forces have seriously damaged the radar station of one of the Ukrainian Patriot systems. As reported by Major General Mike Keller, deputy commander of NATO's training and support mission in Ukraine, the radar was transported to Germany, where specialists initially recognized its irreparable damage.

However, after a few years of replacement, German technicians decided to try to restore the damaged system. Working 16 hours a day from Monday to Saturday, they managed to accomplish this task. The radar returned to Ukraine in July, and it has already been used for intercepting the first Russian target last week.

• At the beginning of August, Germany confirmed its intention to supply Ukraine with two Patriot systems, which became possible due to an agreement with the United States.
• German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that this agreement allows Germany to support Ukraine with Patriot systems while simultaneously preserving its own defense needs.
