The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the preparation of a new financial assistance program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This information he shared in a post on his Telegram.

Zelensky mentioned that he had a conversation with the IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. During the meeting, they discussed issues related to Ukraine's fulfillment of its obligations and the implementation of reforms, regardless of the war.

"We discussed a new financial assistance program that will strengthen Ukraine both now and in the post-war period. We are ready to quickly move to all necessary steps. The government is already working on this," Zelensky noted.

Also during the negotiations, additional financing for the Ukrainian military was discussed, and various options are currently being considered.

The head of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshnyy previously indicated that the previous program with the IMF no longer meets Ukraine's needs. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko emphasized that in the event of the continuation of the war in the coming year, Ukraine would need a new credit program.
