The U.S. military plans to use Cybertrucks for target practice

  • The U.S. military plans to purchase two Cybertrucks for training.
  • The vehicles will be used for testing the accuracy of munitions.
  • The Cybertruck was chosen for its potential military value.

This was reported by Mezha, The Verge.

The U.S. military is considering the possibility of acquiring two electric pickups Tesla Cybertrucks for use as targets during training.

These vehicles are planned to be used for testing high-precision munitions at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. In total, 33 transport vehicles have been ordered, including sedans, pickups, and vans, among which is the Cybertruck.

Documents indicate that the Cybertruck was chosen for its potential to be used against opponents on the battlefield. It is believed that these vehicles do not suffer from typical damage during strong impacts, which makes them suitable for such tests.

This initiative arose in the context of increasing threats, as adversaries may begin to use similar transport vehicles. It is known that previously the U.S. Department of Defense also considered the possibility of purchasing Cybertrucks for other purposes.

Research shows that types of vehicles that can be used against opponents may be replaced by the Tesla Cybertruck, as these vehicles have features that make them more resistant to impacts.
