FBI Officers Dismissed Due to Conflict with Trump's Administration
- A number of senior FBI officials were dismissed, including Brian Driscoll.
- The reasons for the dismissals were not clarified by the dismissed officer.
- The actions of the administration caused tension in the bureau.
This week, several senior FBI officials were dismissed, including former acting director Brian Driscoll, who previously spoke out against the Trump administration regarding the creation of a list of agents who worked on the investigation into the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021.
In addition to Driscoll, also dismissed were deputy director of the Washington Police Department Steven Jensen and other agents. Sources reported that none of them received clarification regarding the reasons for their dismissal.
These actions became a focal point of tension within the bureau, particularly due to attempts to dismiss over 100 employees who had conflicts with the Trump administration. Earlier this year, Driscoll and Jensen had serious disagreements with then-acting general prosecutor Emile Bove, who called for protests within the agency.
All the dismissed officers had worked at the FBI for nearly 20 years in various roles, including senior positions.
