Water level in the Ogayo River increased for the visit of J. D. Vance
- The water level in the Litl-Mayam River has been raised for the safety of J. D. Vance.
- The change in water level has sparked criticism due to the privileged setting.
- Vance was not informed about the increase in water level during his vacation.
In the state of Ogayo, the water level in the Litl-Mayam River was raised to ensure the safety of J. D. Vance, who was celebrating his 41st birthday on a catamaran. According to information provided by the Secret Service, the change in water level was necessary for the safe passage of water transport and emergency services during his visit.
The increase in water level was implemented on September 1, 2025, the day before the celebration of Vance's birthday on September 2. Military engineers from the U.S. Corps reported that the raised water levels did not violate safety norms and did not spill into the water level in neighboring areas.
Observers noted that this decision has sparked criticism, as many people believe that such a privilege is an example of favoritism. Members of Vance's team assert that he was unaware of the increase in water level, which was initiated by the Secret Service for his safety.
Furthermore, Vance's family has already appealed for various special conditions during their visits, including the closure of tourist attractions for their enjoyment, as was the case during their trips to Rome and India.
