Toronto signs midfielder Mykhailovych from Kolorado

Toronto FC announced the signing of midfielder Georgiy Mykhailovych from Kolorado Rapids for a fee of 8 million dollars. The transfer could potentially become more expensive, including an additional 1 million dollars based on performance metrics.
Mykhailovych, 26, signed a three-year contract that will keep him in Toronto until 2028, with the possibility of an extension until 2029. He will occupy a spot on the roster of players who fall under the "designated player" rule.
"When I first joined the league, Toronto was a powerful team, and I saw its potential," said Mykhailovych in a statement.
During his career, Mykhailovych played for Chicago Fire, CF Montreal, and Dutch AZ Alkmaar. He scored 48 goals and provided 63 assists with his teammates.
This season, he scored 9 goals and made 7 assists while with Kolorado.
The General Manager of Toronto, Jayson Ernandes, confirmed that Mykhailovych will be a key player in the club's new project.
Mykhailovych also played for the US national team, appearing in 11 matches and scoring 3 goals. He was a participant in the Olympic Games in 2024.
