Tommy Fleetwood continues his fight in the FedEx Championship
- Tommy Fleetwood shot 63 at the St Jude Championship.
- Akashya Bhatiya leads with a score of 62.
- Only the top 70 players will be able to participate in the tournament.
Tommy Fleetwood from Great Britain showed an impressive result in the first round of the St Jude Championship, which is part of the FedExCup playoffs. With a score of 63, which is seven under par, he holds second place, trailing by one stroke from leader Akashya Bhatiya, who finished the round with 62 strokes.
Fleetwood, 34, managed to close the round with four birdies on the last four holes. He started the round with two strokes over par, but in the second half of the round, he showed remarkable form. His teammates Gary Hull and Justin Rose also showed good results, finishing the round with 64 strokes.
Bhatiya, who before the tournament held the 45th place in the FedEx ranking, noted that he needs to find inner peace on the field for golf. Only the top 70 players will be able to participate in this tournament, and the top 50 after the competition will have the opportunity to play in the BMW Championship next week.
Among other well-known players participating are world number one Scottie Scheffler, who is currently trailing by five strokes from the leader. It is also worth noting that Rory McIlroy is not participating in this tournament, as he showed an unsatisfactory result last year.
