This news was announced a few days after the company revealed that ChatGPT reached 700 million active users per week, which is a significant increase from 500 million in just five months.

During a live broadcast, OpenAI representatives described GPT-5 as the smartest and fastest model available today, with significant improvements in code writing, text generation, and complex task execution.

OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman called GPT-5 "the best model in the world" and noted that this is "a significant step" towards developing general artificial intelligence.

However, a company representative also pointed out that there are still "key limitations in areas such as persistent memory, autonomy, and adaptability in task execution."

According to information from TechCrunch, "GPT-5 is said to be roughly on par with other previous models in several aspects."
