Kramatorsk, Ukraine - September 6: Rescuers in Ukraine are searching in the ruins of buildings destroyed by Russian forces on July 31. On September 6, at least 32 civilians were killed, and 115 were injured as a result of Russian attacks on territory controlled by Ukraine, from September 4 to 7.
During intense attacks in the Zaporizhzhia region, 17 people were killed, and 42 were injured. In other regions, such as Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy, there were also casualties.
In Ukraine, discussions continue regarding potential peace negotiations. On September 6, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a possible meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump noted that negotiations between Putin and his special envoy, Stephen Biegun, have made "significant progress." However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed caution and suggested a trilateral meeting.
On September 7, Zelensky held negotiations with the Chancellor of Germany and the President of France to discuss the European position regarding possible negotiations. The ZMI reported that the Trump administration proposed an agreement that included a ceasefire but not a full peace agreement.
Moreover, on September 8, Ukrainian air defenses shot down a refinery in Russia, causing a fire that was extinguished by local rescuers. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that their systems had destroyed nine Ukrainian drones and all Storm Shadow missiles.
During a phone conversation with foreign leaders, Zelensky discussed a new financial aid program that will assist Ukrainians in the post-war period. French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed support for peace negotiations aimed at achieving a lasting peace.
