The USA is imposing 50 million for the arrest of President Maduro of Venezuela
- The USA has increased the bounty for the arrest of Maduro to 50 million dollars.
- Maduro is accused of connections with drug trafficking and corruption.
- The Venezuelan government does not comment on the new accusations from the USA.
The US government has raised the bounty to 50 million dollars for information leading to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. US Attorney General Pam Bondi accused Maduro of connections with drug trafficking and cartels that supply cocaine with fentanyl to the USA.
Maduro, who was elected to the position in January 2025, already has accusations against him related to narco-terrorism and schemes aimed at importing cocaine, which will be issued during his first term. In 2020, the USA announced a bounty of 15 million dollars, which was later increased to 25 million dollars under the Biden administration.
Despite the significant bounty, Maduro remains in power, regardless of the international accusations against him regarding election fraud. The US Department of Justice also announced the confiscation of assets worth over 700 million dollars, linked to Maduro, including two private jets.
Additionally, Bondi stated that the DEA seized 30 tons of cocaine, linked to Maduro and his associates, of which more than 7 tons belonged to him directly.
The Venezuelan government has not responded to these accusations, but previously Maduro issued similar statements.
