Reductions in energy calculations for households near new facilities
- Households near new facilities will receive reductions in calculations.
- New rules are being introduced for compensation for outages with smart meters.
- Local communities will receive support for the development of new energy infrastructure.
The government of Great Britain is proposing reductions in energy calculations for households that live near new electrical facilities. Along with the new plans, these households, which are located within 500 meters of the new or modernized electrical infrastructure, expect a reduction of £250 over the next ten years.
The reduction will be provided in the form of £125 every six months, totaling £2,500 for the entire program duration. This step aims to reduce the burden on local residents in the context of developing new energy infrastructure, which is crucial for achieving the government's goals in the field of clean energy.
The Minister of Energy, Mіatta Fanbulleh, noted that it is important for communities to receive real benefits from the new infrastructure. She emphasized that the government intends to ensure that consumers receive support in the context of rising energy prices.
Parallel to these changes, new rules are planned for smart meters, allowing consumers to receive compensation in the event of outages with the installation or malfunctioning devices. According to the new requirements, consumers will be able to receive £40 in compensation if they have to wait longer than six weeks for the smart meter installation.
Proposals also include requirements regarding the shortening of the time for the waiting period for the repair of malfunctioning meters. The Minister of Energy emphasized that these measures aim to improve the quality of service provided to consumers and ensure the accuracy of calculations for electricity.
