Zelensky Discusses Steps to Peace with Partners

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine's partners understand who must take action to end the war. He made this statement during a video address, noting that this war is Russia's doing and that Russia itself must agree to a ceasefire and real diplomacy to ensure peace.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine receives clear support from its partners, and they all agree that Russia's war against Ukraine is a war in Europe and against Europe. All decisions regarding how to conclude the conflict concern all of Europe, not just one particular country.

The president also announced that Ukraine is conducting negotiations with European leaders to agree on positions, and a series of such meetings are already planned. In particular, he will hold talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

In discussions with Meloni, Zelensky highlighted a shared vision of paths to achieving a real and just peace. They discussed diplomatic efforts and coordination of upcoming steps, including contacts with U.S. President Donald Trump. Zelensky also noted that the European Union should participate in the post-war rebuilding of Ukraine, thus the voice of Europe must be taken into account.
