Tusk's Prediction Regarding the Freezing of War in Ukraine

  • Tusk considers a temporary freezing of the war to be possible.
  • Zelensky was cautious, but optimistic during the conversation.
  • Poland is ready to participate in the peace process.

This is reported by Interfax Ukraine, Ukrayinska Pravda.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed the opinion that the war, unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, could transition into a phase of temporary "freezing." This information was voiced after a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on August 8.

Tusk noted that during the conversation, Zelensky was "very cautious, but still optimistic." The Prime Minister emphasized that there are certain signals that, according to his opinion, indicate the possibility of "freezing the conflict." He stressed that this does not mean the end of the war, but only points to the possibility of creating conditions for peace.

The Prime Minister also mentioned that the Ukrainian side hopes for the participation of Europe, particularly Poland, in formulating a future peace agreement in Ukraine. Tusk believes that peace in the region will positively influence the security of all countries.

Earlier, at the end of July, Tusk spoke about seeing "many signs" indicating that the war could come to an end, primarily in the near future.
