Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the country plans to fully occupy the territory but does not intend to remain there long-term. This could result in massive displacement of people and threats to foreign nationals held by Hamas.
At the same time, Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent a letter to Democratic lawmakers, urging them to block legislation on redistricting. Abbott promised to call a "special session" until the deputies do not return to work.
He also noted that the results of the 2024 elections are a prerequisite for redistricting. Currently, over 50 Democratic lawmakers have left the state to avoid financial difficulties for them.
In light of these events, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he cannot support the military occupation of Gaza, especially given the humanitarian crisis.
