Barcelona, Spain (AP) — Robert Lewandowski will miss the friendly match of his team this weekend due to a problem with his thigh, the club reported on Friday.

Barcelona will face the Italian club Como in the traditional match for the Joan Gamper trophy before the start of the La Liga season on August 16 against Mallorca.

"The striker will not be able to participate in the game this weekend, and his recovery will take some time," the club's statement said.

Lewandowski scored 42 goals in 52 matches last season, helping Barcelona win the La Liga title. His 27 goals in the league were the second most after Kylian Mbappé's 31 goals.

The 36-year-old Pole is starting his fourth season at Barcelona.
