Ukrainian Forces Destroy Russian Radar Station in Crimea
- Destroyed the radar station 98L6 Enisey in Crimea
- The operation was conducted by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine with the support of the troops
- The station is important for the Russian S-500 air defense systems
This is reported by Interfax Ukraine, Ukrayinska Pravda.
Operatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (HUR) recently destroyed one of the most significant radar stations of the aggressor - 98L6 Enisey - during operations in temporarily occupied Crimea.
This rare and expensive Enisey station is part of the Russian S-500 air defense system. Currently, this system can be used in conjunction with the S-400 Triumph systems.
HUR reports that the destruction of the Enisey station is a significant blow to the capabilities of the air defense systems protecting Russian invaders in temporarily occupied Crimea. The fight continues!
Moreover, Ukrainian forces have dealt blows to other targets in Crimea, including at the S-400 base on Mount Ai-Petri and several radar stations, including Nebo-SVU and Podlet K-1.
The Enisey station is designed for detecting ballistic targets, hypersonic flying objects, stealth targets, low-orbit satellites, and high-altitude aerial targets. It is based on an active electronically scanned array (AESA), which allows tracking hypersonic targets at altitudes of up to 120 km and speeds of up to 4800 meters per second.
