Manchester United has completed the renovation of its training complex in Carrington, which cost 50 million pounds. The opening ceremony took place on September 8, 2025, after the team returned from a preseason tour in the United States.
The project, announced in early last year, was partially funded by investment from Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who became the minority owner of the club. The renovation was conducted by the architectural firm Foster + Partners, which is also developing plans for a new club stadium with a capacity of 100,000 seats.
As part of the renovation, modernized facilities were created for the first team, as well as a training hall, medical and rehabilitation facilities. The club believes that the new conditions will help foster a winning culture.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe emphasized that after reviewing the old facilities, it was decided to invest in creating world-class facilities for players and staff. The club's general director, Omar Berrada, noted that the project would contribute to uniting all parts of the club into a single football entity.
This is the largest renovation of the training complex since its opening at the beginning of the millennium, and it has become part of a large-scale program to upgrade the club's infrastructure, which includes the recent opening of a new building for the women's team and academy for 10 million pounds. In this active summer season, the club signed several new players, including Matheus Cunha and Bryn Mbeumo.
