Glanser believes that the appeal of Palas has a chance of success
- Kristal Pelas filed an appeal against the reduction in the League of Conferences.
- Oliver Glanser is optimistic about the club's chances of success in court.
- The appeal is related to the shared ownership of the clubs Pelas and Lyon.
The head coach of Kristal Pelas, Oliver Glanser, is optimistic regarding the club's appeal against the reduction in European tournaments.
The club received the sanction from UEFA for violating the rules of shared ownership, as the American businessman John Textor owns part of Pelas and is a majority owner of the French club Lyon, which also qualified for the Europa League.
In July, the club filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against UEFA, which issued the sanction. If the appeal is not upheld, the team Nottinghem Forest, which finished seventh in the Premier League, will replace Pelas in the Europa League.
The hearing of the appeal began on Friday, and a decision is expected on Monday. Glanser expressed confidence in the legality of the club's position, noting that it is important to understand why the team should be reduced to the League of Conferences, if they consider themselves innocent.
"It's very difficult when you feel yourself penalized, but at the same time innocent. If we had finished the season in seventh place and qualified for the League of Conferences, we would have celebrated," – said Glanser.
Glanser also noted that the situation with the appeal did not interfere with the team's preparation for the new season, and the club continues to work on strengthening the squad.
