Today, August 8, 2025, the opening of the new season of the Ukrainian Cup in football took place. The first match was held between the IRON team from Zaporizhzhia and Novoukrainka from the Kirovohrad region.

The IRON team won decisively with a score of 5:1. In the first half, Serhiy Lomako opened the scoring with a long-range shot in the third minute. Later, in the ninth minute, Taras Petrenko doubled his team's lead. Before the break, Viktor Okatyi and Lomako added two more goals, with Lomako completing a brace in the 35th minute.

After the break, Oleksiy Chernichenko scored the fifth goal in the 58th minute, and Dmytro Tyupa added a sixth in the 66th minute, establishing the final score.

With this victory, IRON advanced to the 1/32 finals of the Ukrainian Cup, where on September 23 and 24, the team will participate in the competition against clubs from the First and Second Leagues.
