President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved new sanction packages against Russia. He announced this during an evening video address on August 8.

Zelensky noted that he held a special meeting with government officials and the team of the President's Office regarding work in the European direction. He stressed that the sanctions that had been imposed earlier have already significantly impacted the Russian economy.

"Russia does not care about human losses. They block all information about their losses, but they cannot hide the objective reality. What the Russian economy is experiencing, how Russian enterprises are halting their operations, how Russian logistics are suffering, testify to the effectiveness of the sanctions. I want to thank everyone around the world for the support and assistance in the fight for peace," added the President.

Corresponding decisions regarding the new sanctions will be adopted as soon as possible.
