Monaco officially signed 35-year-old goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky from Bayer Leverkusen on a two-year contract with the possibility of an extension for one more year. The signing took place on August 8, 2025, and the total transfer fee was 2.5 million euros with possible bonuses amounting to 1 million euros.
Hradecky, who was born in Slovakia, has extensive experience, having spent 10 years in the German Bundesliga, starting in Frankfurt and later in Leverkusen. He won the championship and the German Cup twice during his two seasons there and set a record for the number of matches played in the Bundesliga among foreign goalkeepers.
In the previous season, Monaco suffered from instability in the goalkeeper position, as neither Radoslav Mazáč nor Philipp Kohn managed to secure the first place. Hradecky has already succeeded in debuting in the Monaco squad in a friendly match against Inter, which took place immediately after signing the contract.
Monaco will start its season in Ligue 1 on August 16, facing Leverkusen.
