PSG signs goalkeeper Chevalier instead of Donnarumma

  • Chevalier has signed a five-year contract with PSG.
  • Donnarumma remains at the club due to unsuccessful negotiations.
  • Chevalier has become one of the most promising goalkeepers in French football.

This is reported by ESPN, L'Équipe, Terrikon.

Paris Saint-Germain has officially signed Lucas Chevalier from Lille on a five-year contract. The transfer amounted to 40 million euros, with the possibility of rising to 55 million euros depending on bonuses. Chevalier, a 23-year-old goalkeeper, has already undergone a medical examination in Paris.

He will become the new starting goalkeeper of the team, while Gianluigi Donnarumma remains at the club, as the parties could not reach an agreement regarding the extension of the contract. Donnarumma, who earns 850,000 euros per month, wanted an increase in salary, but the club did not agree to his terms.

Chevalier has established himself as a reliable goalkeeper, with 34 matches in Ligue 1 last season and 11 "clean sheet" games. PSG hopes that signing Chevalier will ensure stability in the team's goalkeeping for the coming years.
