Chelsea midfielder Nicolas Jackson decided to stay with the club
- Nicolas Jackson expressed a desire to remain at Chelsea.
- The club is considering offers from Newcastle and other teams.
- Jackson signed a contract until 2033, but may leave the club.
Nicolas Jackson, the Chelsea forward, confirmed his desire to stay with the club amid interest from Newcastle. The 24-year-old midfielder missed a friendly match against Bayern on Friday and trained separately, informing the club of his intentions. Jackson has been less utilized at Stamford Bridge since the signing of new forwards, such as Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
Chelsea hopes to receive no less than £65 million for Jackson, although they initially valued him at £80 million. The club believes the player is worth more than the amount Arsenal paid for Declan Rice.
If Chelsea fails to sell Jackson for the desired price, the club plans to return him to the main squad. In 2023, he signed a contract for nine years, which lasts until 2033. Last season, Jackson scored 30 goals and made 12 assists in 80 matches for Chelsea.
Newcastle is also interested in signing other players, including Joao Vitor from Brentford, as the team seeks reinforcements after Kellan Wilson left the club.
