Incidents Involving Sex Dolls During WNBA Games

  • A series of incidents involving sex dolls occurred during WNBA games.
  • The responsibility for the incidents was taken by a group of cryptocurrency enthusiasts.
  • Two individuals were banned for hooliganism during the game.

Noteworthy incidents involving sex dolls during games of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) have drawn media and public attention. Over the past few days at WNBA arenas, there have been incidents where bright sex dolls were thrown onto the court, causing outrage among players and coaches, as well as unwanted attention from spectators.

The first incident happened on July 29 during a game between the Atlanta Dream and Chicago Sky, when a sex doll was tossed onto the court. As a result, two individuals were banned, one of whom, 23-year-old Delbert Carver, received a citation for hooliganism and disorderly conduct. The other, 18-year-old Kaden Lopez, was also detained after his sex doll was seen by the audience during a game on September 5 in Phoenix.

As it became known, a certain group involved in cryptocurrency took responsibility for these incidents. They claim that their actions were an attempt to draw attention to a new meme-cryptocurrency, launched recently before the first incidents. A representative of the group explained that they did not intend to portray women but wanted to use "viral tricks" to promote their product.

Players and WNBA trainers expressed their outrage. Chicago Sky player Elizabeth Williams called these actions "extremely disrespectful," while Minnesota Lynx head coach Sheri Ring remarked that these incidents are a manifestation of the ongoing sexualization of women in sports. She emphasized that this is not only disrespectful but also unsafe for all participants in the games.

WNBA Commissioner Keti Engelbert also condemned similar actions, stressing that player and spectator safety is the highest priority for the league. She noted that any pretexts that are thrown onto the court can create an unsafe environment for all present.
