Michael Paul Brown, the suspect in the murder of four individuals at the bar in Anaconda on September 1, was arrested after a week of investigation. According to information from law enforcement, Brown, a former military serviceman, fled the crime scene, which prompted a large-scale operation for his search.

The arrest took place on September 8, after local, state, and federal agencies managed to track him down. According to the words of Anaconda District Attorney Dir Lodge Morgan Smith, the search involved dozens of agencies.

Among the deceased in the shooting were barmaid Nensi Loretta Kelly, 64, and patrons: Daniel Edwin Bailey, 59, David Allen Leach, 70, and Tony Wayne Palm, 74. Brown was found alive near the bar and, according to investigators, was known to most of the victims.
