Deon Sanders, head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, began his return after treatment for kidney cancer. In a media conference at the university, he stated that he feels healthy and is ready for the new season, which starts on September 29 against Georgia Tech at Folsom Field.

Sanders returned to the team after treatment and is focused on preparation, including selecting a new quarterback. The team has two candidates: freshman Julián "JuJu" Lewis and transfer Kaidan Salter. He noted that the team's style of play will change, but will still be in line with their capabilities.

During training, Sanders emphasized his expectations, demanding that the defense improve its effectiveness. After one practice, he rated the team a C-minus, stressing the need for improvement.

Although the team did not make it into the top-25 in the Coaches Poll, they received 12 votes, indicating hope for a positive start to the season. For Sanders, it is important that the team unites to achieve success.
