- Nearly 200 new photographs of the crime scene have been released.
- Kohberger received a sufficient term for the murder of four students.
- Investigators identified DNA from Kohberger at the crime scene.
The Idaho police released new images and video from the murder scene, providing the public with a detailed view of the building where Bryan Kohberger murdered four university students in 2022.
The images, which were obtained through a request for information, show more than 200 edited and unedited photographs. They were taken in the destroyed building at 1122 King Road in Moscow, Idaho, and depict the entrance doors that the perpetrator used, as well as bloodstains on the walls.
Kohberger, 30, acknowledged his guilt last month and received sentencing in the form of a lengthy imprisonment for the murder of Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, on November 13, 2022.
Among the images are typical scenes of student life, such as red plastic cups and paper bags, as well as grisly details of the crime, including body remnants and blood on the floor.
According to reports, neighbor cameras captured a vehicle that left the building during the time of the crime. The murder likely occurred between 4:00 and 4:25 AM, according to witness testimonies from neighbors who heard loud noises.
Kohberger remained free for more than six weeks while investigators compared DNA found on a knife sheath at the crime scene to his data. The weapon used to kill the students has yet to be found.
Using mobile data, investigators suggested that Kohberger attempted to clean his crime scene, regularly washing his car. He was arrested on December 30, 2022, at his parents' home in Pennsylvania.
Currently, Kohberger is housed in a solitary confinement cell at Idaho Maximum Security.
