No one thought that the status of the object of criminal investigation would be so serious, said Nikola Sterdžen, former first minister of Scotland. She described how her detention and police investigation were similar to a "mental category". These events happened after the arrest of a man, Peter Murrell, who held the position of general director of the Scottish National Party (SNP) and was accused of embezzling party funds.

In her new book "Shyro" Sterdžen revealed significant moments of her life, including experiences related to motherhood and personal losses. In April 2023, police visited her home in Glasgow, announcing the arrest of Murrell and searching their shared property. Following this, Sterdžen also mentioned the inquiry, but no charges were brought against her.

She recalled that she experienced great difficulties during the investigation, feeling fear and anxiety. "This was the worst day of my life," she wrote about the day of her arrest. However, when she was cleared of suspicion in February 2025, she felt an immense relief.

Sterdžen also shared personal experiences, including about the eviction she experienced in 2010. She described how difficult it was to combine a career and personal life, and also her deep sorrow over the loss. These memories became part of her autobiography, which will be published on September 14, 2025.
