On Friday, September 8, 2025, during the preseason match of the NFL between the Atlanta Falcons and the Detroit Lions, the game was halted due to an injury to Lions player Moritz Norris. The incident occurred at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, when Norris received a blow to the head during a tackle attempt on Nathan Carter.
Medical personnel provided assistance to Norris on the field for approximately 20 minutes, after which he was taken out on a stretcher for further medical assistance. At the moment of the game stoppage, the Lions were leading 17-10.
After Norris left the field, the game was suspended, as the trainers of both teams—Raim Morris and Denna Kembell—decided not to continue the match. NFL officials in New York also confirmed the decision to stop the game.
