The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stressed that Ukraine will not agree to territorial concessions during the discussion of a peace agreement. According to him, the response to the territorial issue is already enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine.
Quote from Zelensky: "The answer to the Ukrainian territorial issue is already in the Constitution of Ukraine. They will not deviate from this – and they cannot. Ukrainians will not give away their land to the occupier."
Zelensky also noted that Ukraine is ready for real solutions that could lead to peace. However, he emphasized that any agreements made without Ukraine's participation are "dead solutions" and will not bring peace.
Additional details: It is noted that on August 8, Trump expressed the opinion about the possibility of "exchanging territories" during a briefing at the White House. A meeting between Trump and Putin is scheduled for August 15 in Alaska.
Zelensky also expressed hope that all partners will realize that such a peace is impossible. "This war must end – and Russia must end it. Russia started it and is dragging it out, and this is a problem," he added.
The president thanked the Ukrainian people for their support and called for unity in the struggle for independence.
