Alaska Governor Ready to Host Meeting Between Trump and Putin

Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy expressed his state's readiness to be the venue for a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

In his announcement on the social media platform X, Dunleavy noted that Alaska occupies a strategically important place in the world, located at the crossroads of Northern America and Asia, with the Arctic to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south.

"Only two miles separate Russia from Alaska, no other place plays such an important role in our national security, energy security, and leadership in the Arctic," the governor wrote.

In his opinion, what is happening in the Arctic and Pacific Ocean directly impacts Alaska earlier than in other parts of the country. Dunleavy believes it is logical that discussions of globally important issues take place right here.

"Historically, Alaska has been a bridge between nations, and today we remain a conduit for diplomacy, trade, and security in one of the most critical regions in the world. The world will be watching, and Alaska is ready to host this historic meeting," he added.

According to the information, the meeting between Trump and Putin will take place on August 15 in Alaska.
