Russian troops captured up to 550 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory

In July, Russian troops possibly captured 500-550 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory. According to data from British intelligence, an equivalent area of territory was occupied in red.

Analyzing the situation, it is noted that in the red and July occupied areas, it is likely that the occupiers continued to seize territory, observing a significant increase since February 2025.

Main combat operations are taking place in the Donetsk region, particularly in the northern and southern flanks from Pokrovsk, where Russian troops are trying to push out of the city and tighten logistical routes.

According to the information, Russian troops have already captured almost all of the territory of the Donetsk region to the south from Pokrovsk. However, in the last two weeks, there have been no significant developments in the Sumy region due to constant losses and counterattacks by Ukrainian forces.

At the same time, it is reported that the units of the 51st Air Assault Brigade in the Sumy region are refusing to carry out orders, including through a card to the command that requires them to attack with significant losses.

Currently, the most active front remains in Pokrovsk, where over the last 24 hours there have been recorded 45 enemy attacks. According to analysts, on July 31, Ukrainian forces advanced in one of the populated points near Pokrovsk.

Recently, Russians have been spreading information about the inability to evacuate Ukrainian units in Pokrovsk, however, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine simplified this information. According to local authorities, the situation in Pokrovsk is complicated, and delivering humanitarian and medical assistance is practically impossible.
